A Night Out

A couple of weeks ago, my lovely friend Katy invited me along to the official opening of the Verily & Bella Lido designer pop up boutique to check out their summer ranges.

So many beautiful colors and designs but being only five weeks after giving birth I decided it wasn't the best idea to buy anything as I KNOW my size will change over the next few months. 

We enjoyed a glass of bubbly or two and some lovely canapes and then headed up Mooloolaba Esplanade where I indulged in a cocktail. I hope I wasn't on my phone too much wondering how the husband was coping at home with the baby but those three hours were wonderful. 

I wore a thirteen dollar Dotti dress and worried out whether my freshly painted white nails looked like a white-out job.

I'm Alive!

So I've been quite the absent blogger of late but that is what happens when a little human requires so much of your time! I'm loving my little man so much but at times it can be challenging not to mention lonely. Luckily, Ned has a fantastic honorary Aunt who he has been seeing at least once a week providing me with some much needed adult time. Introducing my friend, Katy who blogs over at Katy Potaty. We've really hit it off and it helps that she is totally smitten with my little man. I do sometimes wonder though if she only wants to hang out with me to get Ned time. Oh well, I'll take it either way. We've been coffee-ing, lunching, wine-ing, walking and talking about reality TV, fashion and how annoying our husbands are lol.

I'm a mama!

Hey guys, I'm sure you've all guessed it/seen pics on instagram or my other blog but thirteen days ago, our little man Ned was welcomed into the world. The last two weeks have consisted of feeding, midwife visits,with the occasional visit to the shops. 

I'm feeling pretty good but don't think anyone cares to see pics of my house attire which mostly consists of a lorna jane crop and a sussan dressing gown. I plan to meet up with some friends next week which will give me the perfect excuse to get a little dolled up. I'm hoping to start a new weekly hump day post titled he wears, she wears. It will be so much fun when he is a little bigger and can start wearing some cool threads.

Hump Day, Bump Day: Week 38 Edition

Hey guys, seems I've been a bit slack on the blogging front and missed my 37 week bump shot. Truth be told I was probably wearing gym clothes with my face and hair resembling nanny mcphee and didn't think anyone needed to see that. Today I'm 38 weeks and three days pregnant and feeling every bit of it. I'm desperate to meet my little man and am dreading the thought of being induced. That won't happen until at least the 12th of August so please send your happy thoughts and messages to this little man to step out of his comfort zone and join us on the outside world. Preferably in the next couple of days if that can be organised. 

Anyway, a lunch date with the gorgeous Katy was the perfect excuse to escape the everyday routine of washing, walking the dog, vacuuming and mopping and wake up, put on a little makeup and a decent outfit.

We had a quick bite to eat at the new Get Fresh at Cotton Tree which was delish and then I had a lovely look through Willow & Bird (the most delightful homewares/gift store) before another mundane task of grocery shopping called my name. The full length mirror at Willow & Bird was the perfect excuse to showcase my thrown together outfit.

Hump Day, Bump Day: Week 36 Edition

Thankfully I took outfit photos yesterday because today the cold I was hoping might have magically left my body has made its presence known even more. Boo to that. Hello lemon and hot water. 

I'm in my final week at work and Friday can't come soon enough. We're having a mini-staycation down at Mooloolaba for three nights and then I'm hoping the baby starts making his journey down the canal towards life. Wasn't that a lovely analogy? I've been telling him next Wednesday would be good. The husband thinks the following Wednesday is a definite no-no - for those in the know-know (ha, see what I did there?) it is the final Origin match for the year.

Hump Day, Bump Day: Week 35 Edition

I'm very much nearing the end of my pregnancy and the wardrobe choices are quickly decreasing. Not necessarily because things don't fit but because I want to be comfortable if I have to sit at work all day. Luckily, only seven more work days left and I can slouch around in my pj's all day long if I please.

I'm hoping Katy will agree to a lunch date or two before the baby arrives. It will give me a good excuse to doll myself up a bit instead of sitting around the house all day.
