Fridays are made for ...

Fridays are made for a comfy dress, minimal jewellery, sandals and giving my eyes a rest from contacts.

Treasures

It's Sunday evening and I'm sitting in front of the heater watching Masterchef. It's been a while since I've linked up with Sophie's weekly flea market finds and thought what better time than after a weekend where I found some lovely treasures.

First find, inspired by the adorable Zara is this cute little milk glass trinket container. I now have four peices of milk glass so I guess I now have a collection? lol

I then picked up this hippy 70s top from a garage sale with a couple of other items. It's one that needs to be belted but looks like it has never been worn and is very unique.

On Friday while on my regular lunchtime trip to Vinnies I spotted this beauty in the fancy dress section. I happily handed over my three dollars and it has now been washed and awaiting its first outing. I think I might wear this to my auntie's seventies themed 40th birthday party in a couple of weeks ... if I can wait that long!

Finally, Black Caviar wasn't the only winner this weekend. I won this gorgeous trophy from a garage sale for three dollars and only realised that once I got it home and gave it a bit of silvo treatment that is in fact quite old! From 1939 to be exact. It is currently housing some of my favourite costume jewellery.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend

p.s. notice my new blog design? Big props to Felicity of Pursuit of Felicity - she was great to work with and I can highly recommend her work!

What I Wore Wednesday - 70s heaven

Saw this little beauty in Lifeline the other day while shopping with the husband and snapped it up quick smart. The price? $3.50! Beautiful fuchsia colour and straight from the seventies.

So looking forward to this weekend - a weekend with my bridesmaids in the country. It shall be a hoot.

Till next time xxx

Send-It-Forward ... a seventies beauty and Johnson : )

I recently was the lucky winner of Zara's send-it-forward gift and I'm very much looking forward to receiving it.

As a recipient, it is now my duty to offer some goodies up to the lovely blogger community. All you have to do is leave a comment at the bottom of this post telling me which item you'd like to receive and commit to offering a send-it-forward gift to another fellow blogger. It can be a crafted, thrifted or new item - it's up to you.

Easy, peasy!

Seventies Maxi Skirt

This seventies maxi skirt is more beautiful than words can describe!

It is in a thicker material so would be perfect for winter wear.

It has a reasonably small waist (estimate AUS sz 8) but could be easily altered. It falls to the floor.

I can see a lot of bloggers rockin' this skirt and I can't wait to see the recipient in it!

I'm happy to post this beauty world wide.

Retro Side Plates

The other item I'd like to pass on is four Johnson of Australia side plates. All plates have the same pattern and are in excellent condition. Unfortunately I will only post these within Australia.

Remember, all you have to do is leave a comment at the bottom of this post telling me which item you'd like to receive and why ...

Happy Friday friends xxx

What I Wore Wednesday - 70s Maxi and Sequins Baby

The weather here in South East Queensland has been shocking lately and in no way could be described as summer. Fine weather for Australia Day definitely does not look promising!

For this week's outfit I teamed a 70s vintage maxi dress with a sequin vest and a ex-handbag-turned-clutch.

from boring bag to cute clutch

What is your take on sequins? I think you either love them or hate them. I'm a lover and have my eye on a few things on asos at the moment. Only trick is where do you wear them? I got home and asked the husband what he thought of my outfit - he thought I looked mumsy. I can't win with him!! I'm either bloody mumsy or am wearing a doiley or tablecloth.

Speaking of mumsy ... I'm going to be an aunty!!!!!!! My twin sis is due to have her first baby in late July and I can't wait. I especially can't wait to find out what the sex is so I can buy cute little things. There is no denying that everyone is hoping for a girl - there is so much more variety and cuteness for girls.

Happy Australia Day friends for tomorrow and a big happy 38th anniversary to mum and dad and a huge 40th birthday wish to my workmate Kristin. Have fun!
