Melbourne Cup - Office Style

Here's what I wore to work today on Melbourne Cup day. I failed at the office sweeps and have drunk a whole bottle of wine. I'm very much unsure whether I should drive home at this stage.

For those of you who are regular op shoppers and those who buy things which you ponder whether you will actually EVER will wear will understand today's predicament. Today's choice is a beautiful pastel purple vintage frock that I can so imagine someone wearing to a Saturday night dance in the 50s but probably not the best length for someone of my height. I decided to wear it anyway incase I never wear it again. The shoes were my original wedding choice shoe.

For a bit of variety, here is the rock dog totally lovin' some knock off ray bans purchased in San Francisco.

Any some work out shots ... these are for you, Megan! My bestie has lost loads of kilos and is such an inspiration. It was so awesome for her to come along to my Friday afternoon pump class last Friday.

What I Wore Wednesday - Maroon Fever

On this day for many years my uniform for the day was a Queensland state of origin jersey and jeans. For those of you have no idea what i'm talking about, who better to reference than my old friend wikipedia.

State of Origin is the annual best-of-three series of rugby league football matches between the Maroons and the Blues, who represent the Australian states of Queensland and New South Wales respectively.^[1] Described as "sport's greatest rivalry,"^[2][3]the State of Origin series is one of Australia's and the region's premier sporting events, attracting a huge television audience and usually selling out the stadiums in which the games are played.^[4] Despite the existence of international tournaments and State of Origin being a domestic competition, it is frequently cited as being the highest-level of rugby league played anywhere in the world.

Given that I'm a Queenslander through and through, the only colour I'm interested today is maroon. Anyone ever thought it was odd that us Australians pronounce the word maroon as 'marone'? 

I picked up these tights at Myer ages ago on a two for ten dollar special. They are terribly short and the quality doesn't seem great. I won't be going back for more that is for sure.

I'm on to episode three of once upon a time. Is anyone else getting in to it? I'm very intrigued that is for sure.

What I Wore Wednesday - 70s heaven

Saw this little beauty in Lifeline the other day while shopping with the husband and snapped it up quick smart. The price? $3.50! Beautiful fuchsia colour and straight from the seventies.

So looking forward to this weekend - a weekend with my bridesmaids in the country. It shall be a hoot.
