Wearing a bump in Boohoo

Hello dear readers. Thanks for stopping by. Did anyone see my post on instagram yesterday? If not, why not? Come and be my follower - I'm peta_ballerina. Let me know your insta username if I don't follow you already. Anyway, I thought I was pretty clever. In case you didn't see it ...
The husband didn't get it. He gets confused when hashtags are involved.

This dress is from Boohoo and was ordered by my twinnie. She hasn't worn it as it is not suitable for breast feeding so passed it on to me. I haven't ordered anything from boohoo personally and didn't think I would as I thought the images of the items on the website looked to be of poor quality. This dress contradicts that thought. The quality is better that what I would expect from valleygirl or ally and maybe even dotti. This one is a size 12 and in my opinion, a small 12. I'm usually an 8 or 10 in dresses and would say this is more like a 10. I'm not sure how much it was but I might pop over to the site and see if they have any elastic waist print pants available. I'm at the stage where pants and jeans with a button and zip just are of no interest which cuts out most of my bottoms options for the cooler weather. I think skirts and shorts are just about out too.

I'm on my eye out for a chair like this. I'm pretty sure mum and dad had one of these when we were younger but it probably landed up at the dump or something. Who knew that they would become so valuable. They are fetching over $100 on eBay. I'm hoping to find one magically at an op or garage sale for a fiver. I may totally be dreaming but hey, you've got to dream don't you? I have family and friends on the lookout too. If you are in QLD and you spot one, let me know. Or better yet, buy it, let me know and whatever you do - don't keep it for yourself!

I'm booked in for my twenty week scan in one week's time - for those that care that is next Thursday at 3pm. I'm so bloody excited to find out the sex so hopefully the baby is cooperative and calm enough for us to see its 'bits'. After the scan I've booked in to treat myself to a deluxe mani and pedi so it will definitely be a treat day. My nails are in desperate need of attention!

Have a fabulous weekend

Weekend Excitement

Hey ho.

It's near the end of the working week and I am really looking forward to the weekend:

* date night dinner at French Restaurant Le Baroque tonight
* a 50th birthday extravaganza (20s dress up theme)
* getting my hair dyed after far too long
* birthday breakfasts (i'm turning the big 3-0)
* birthday dinners with friends holidaying at the coast.

What are you up to?

In other news, I have ordered and paid for our cot. I may be a little too prepared but when I stumbled across incy interiors a few weeks back I knew I had to have one of their cots. You see I was all lined up to purchase a gorgeous antique cot off eBay until such time as my aunty rang me in a panic letting me know the hazards of the old cots. I reconsidered when she mentioned two of the dangers - that babies have gotten their heads stuck between the rails because the spacings are too far apart (but not far enough for heads!) and that once babies start to teeth they like to nibble the cot and a lot of the paint had lead in it. Oops, lucky she was on the ball. What a bad mother I would have been!

The customer service I've received from Incy has been fantastic. Originally I had tried to purchase the cot off  metromum who had the cot advertised about $70 cheaper but after receiving not one reply from two emails and a facebook message I gave up on them and contacted incy asking if they would match the price. They were more than happy to match the price and sent me an invoice for the total cost. I went to pay for the cot yesterday and after I did went to the website and realised they were offering customers 20% off for valentines day and was annoyed at myself for not looking at the website first. I contacted incy who were more than happy to refund the $60 extra I would have saved with the 20% off sale.

I also made a last minute decision to switch from the Reese cot (such a classic)

to the Declan cot (a bit out there for some)

We don't know the sex yet but I plan I using a vintage sideboard we own in the baby's room and thought the colours were a match made in heaven. I don't plan on making the nursery too gender specific neither do I plan to make it completely vintage. A room wouldn't be my type of room without a bit of vintage influence though.

And here is a bit of a belly progress shot. Definitely getting a bit thicker ... around the abdomen and a bit in the head too I'm afraid. Baby brain does exist.

How good do those lollies look?!

What I Wore Wednesday - Feeling a little Blue

Today's outfit was built around this new Forever New prom skirt I bought a week or so back for around $30 while they were having a 50% off the marked price sale (gotta love that!)

I love the pattern, the poooof-i-ness and above all else, that is is basically spring personified.

For all you Toowoomba bargain hunters out there, Lifeline on Anzac Avenue has 50% off all clothes till Friday. You better get there before I do and take all the good stuff!

I'm finally able to share our new house in anotehr post later this afternoon. Stay tuned!

Gumtree is for Me

Hey ya'll. So, the husband and I are definitely moving and are very close to settling on a house in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. The house has polished timber floors with four bedrooms and considering we only have two beds I thought we needed to increase our stock by one or two. I had visited Snooze earlier in the week and was slightly shocked at the price of beds, mattresses and ensembles. I decided to give eBay and Gumtree a try and searched for beds in the Toowoomba, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast region. When I stumbled across this beauty and I knew the husband would like it, I pounced. The husband who seems to like doing up (conservative estimate (inside joke)) budgets was quite pleased when I told him I had bought this bed for 10% of the $2000 he had assigned for a new bed.

To some people it may look dirty, weathered and not one bit appealing to sleep in but it is completely 'us'  and I can't wait to style it in our new house. Over to pinterest I go for ideas!

Melbourne Cup - Office Style

Here's what I wore to work today on Melbourne Cup day. I failed at the office sweeps and have drunk a whole bottle of wine. I'm very much unsure whether I should drive home at this stage.

vintage dress | mollini heels | assorted accesories

For those of you who are regular op shoppers and those who buy things which you ponder whether you will actually EVER will wear will understand today's predicament. Today's choice is a beautiful pastel purple vintage frock that I can so imagine someone wearing to a Saturday night dance in the 50s but probably not the best length for someone of my height. I decided to wear it anyway incase I never wear it again. The shoes were my original wedding choice shoe.

For a bit of variety, here is the rock dog totally lovin' some knock off ray bans purchased in San Francisco.

Any some work out shots ... these are for you, Megan! My bestie has lost loads of kilos and is such an inspiration. It was so awesome for her to come along to my Friday afternoon pump class last Friday.

Hop everyone had a fabulous Tuesday!

I like to ride my bicycle, i like to ride my bike ...

It's national ride to work day and I decided to overcome my fear of being swooped by a magpie and ride to work. Man, I love my bike and know I should ride it more often.

forever 21 dress | diva bangle | katies ballet flats | ray ban sunnies/glasses

I can't help but think I look a little plump in these photos. I was excited to find out I hadn't put on any weight after jumping on the scales after getting back from the US. It's a week later and perhaps it is catching up with me now?!
Stay tuned for a giveaway this afternoon - very exciting!

What I Wore Wednesday - Spots

ahoy me arties ... hope you're having a fantastic international talk like a pirate day! Today was one of those days that I changed about four times before finally deciding quickly on this ensemble as I had to be at work in fifiteen minutes. Not a bad thrown together outfit if I say so myself.

This time next Wednesday the husband and I will be on a jet plane headed for the united states of america to party with these girls and celebrate a long awaited wedding. Packing starts on the weekend!

I was featured over on Lauren's blog on Monday ... I was very excited!
