What I Wore Wednesday - Sporty Sista

My expanding belly is limiting the choices I have to select from in the morning to wear to work. Being a bit of a gym nut I have quite the selection of sports gear and thought I would see if I could get away with dressing up, what is essentially, gym gear, with a pair of ballet flats and a bangle.

I've made it past half way!

Melbourne Cup - Office Style

Here's what I wore to work today on Melbourne Cup day. I failed at the office sweeps and have drunk a whole bottle of wine. I'm very much unsure whether I should drive home at this stage.

vintage dress | mollini heels | assorted accesories

For those of you who are regular op shoppers and those who buy things which you ponder whether you will actually EVER will wear will understand today's predicament. Today's choice is a beautiful pastel purple vintage frock that I can so imagine someone wearing to a Saturday night dance in the 50s but probably not the best length for someone of my height. I decided to wear it anyway incase I never wear it again. The shoes were my original wedding choice shoe.

For a bit of variety, here is the rock dog totally lovin' some knock off ray bans purchased in San Francisco.

Any some work out shots ... these are for you, Megan! My bestie has lost loads of kilos and is such an inspiration. It was so awesome for her to come along to my Friday afternoon pump class last Friday.

Hop everyone had a fabulous Tuesday!

Inspired ... Red, White and Animal Print

When I laid eyes on this picture of Kate Moss I knew I had to pin it straight away. Red, white and animal print is a classic in my book and is a look that anyone can recreate usually with pieces directly from their own wardrobe.

That jacket is AMAZING and if I could look that good in red leather pants (and could afford them for that matter) I'd search around the world for the ultimate pair. But I found an alternative in the form of these Lorna Jane jeggings (which aren't all that cheap themselves to be honest). Thinking back to no more than a year ago you would have never seen me even consider buying, let along wearing jeggings but times are a changing. I'm no Kate Moss but quite like this outfit. Can you really go wrong with this colour/pattern combo?

I have some other random photos to share as well. Some that have made it to instragram and some that haven't - all from my iphone : )

all dresses at target were $29 on Saturday. I picked up these two and in doing so, saved myself $70!

What I Wore Wednesday and Shopping

Still loving knits and couldn't leave this one behind at Myer the weekend before last when all knits were 40% off. This one came down to $30.
quirky circus knit | dotti dress | asos brogues

If you follow me on instagram (peta_ballerina) you would have seen that I got two parcels at work today. Wanna know what I got?

This skirt from eBay. It fits perfectly but is slightly longer than I thought it was. Very cute though.
AND ... a pair of leather pants from my fave online store ... asos. I also put a pair of 200 denier tights in my cart to make the total over $100 AUD so I could use the 10% off code. A very important lesson. The items in my cart came to a total of AUD $100.33 and once I applied the 10% discount the total reduced to $90.30. I always change the currency to pounds before I check out though. Even with my credit card's currency conversion fee the total charged to my account was $83.32. A saving of $6.98 may not seem like much but who doesn't want to save money?!

This is my first item of leather clothing (putting in an order for a jacket for christmas) and for those who are interested, the quality seems good and I bought the size 12. It's always risky buying pants or jeans online but I'm happy to report these fit just about perfectly. They might be a teensy bit loose in the leg but hopefully I can make them work. How would you wear them?

Oh, and some more shopping from earlier in the week. Being an active gym junkie (and instructor) I cannot resist Lorna Jane. I bought the python full length tights and a super warm hoodie with a hint of my favourite trend at the moment - you guess it, neon!
