what i wore wednesday - asos maternity

At twenty one weeks and four days I've embraced maternity fashion and am proudly rocking a pair of asos maternity jeans that arrived in the mail yesterday. I've actually purchased quite a few asos maternity items of late (pictured below) and although I'm probably still a bit 'small' for most of them and/or the weather isn't cool enough yet I'm excited to wear them. I've long been a fan of asos, and their maternity range sure does not disappoint. Women should realise maternity fashion isn't all doom and gloom - that the options that you see at your local kmart or target isn't everything that is out there. I for one am not into the cross over top with three-quarter pants look - no matter how comfy it may be.

Remember to just pick your regular size! The jeans I am wearing today (top right in the first picture) are a size 12 (the size I would normally buy to be on the safe side) and are pretty true to size. My bump isn't really big enough yet but they sure are comfy and I really think they are going to see me all the way through this pregnancy. I tried on the 'shapewear' dress this morning (a size 10) and really think it's going to help make everything look that much smoother. I think I'll need a few more items to get me through the next four and a half months and given that I'm happy with the current items I've received from asos I'll no doubt be purchasing more (of course only when a discount code is available).

What I Wore Wednesday - Sporty Sista

My expanding belly is limiting the choices I have to select from in the morning to wear to work. Being a bit of a gym nut I have quite the selection of sports gear and thought I would see if I could get away with dressing up, what is essentially, gym gear, with a pair of ballet flats and a bangle.

I've made it past half way!

Pregnant in Peplum

Today is my first attempt at seeing what the peplum trend is all about. This top from target was reduced to something like $6 so what better way to introduce myself to this oh-so-popular trend. It's soft and super comfortable but I'm unsure if it's suitable for a pregnant belly (if you can make one out at all). I teamed it with some old skorts from ally and my faithful asos brogues

Saturday we went to my sister's mother-in-law's 50th birthday extravanganza. It was heaps of fun to dress up and play around in the photo booth. Can you believe my sissy picked up the Cooper St sequin dress I'm wearing at an op shop for $3?!

Also, I read this morning that fat mum slim in conjunction with blurb is offering a free photo book for anyone worldwide on Saturday for 24 hours only (must pay for postage though) . Like many of us, I have yet to print any of my instagram/facebook photos and when a free photo book is on offer ... why not?!
see the details here.

I might have been sent an email from asos with a 25% off code and might have checked out with these couple of items in my cart.

this one should see my quite well through the pregnancy - here

I've ordered these a size up so I can wear them throughout the next couple of months. I'm too povo to buy leather leggings and I thought these were a good substitute - here

I'm totally loving monochrome at the moment - anyone else? I didn't notice these yesterday but I will definiltey be putting them in my wishlist

Seventeen weeks on Sunday : )

Purchased

Just clicked the submit order button on this beauty:

Happy 30th birthday to me (in 12 days).

I also decided to pick up some items from a store I've been neglecting for a while - asos. Actually I haven't really done much shopping recently. I guess the realisation of how much it costs to have a baby may have subconsciously killed my spending habits. On the flip side, I am totally bored with my whole wardrobe at the moment and wanted to inject some new pieces which would carry me through the pregnancy. I tell you what ... collectively speaking, maternity specific clothes are just not nice in my opinion. I get that you have a belly to contend with but can't designers make pieces that are flattering as well as a little bit um, stylish?! I did pick up this top from pumpkin patch as sale items were an extra 20% off and it was under twenty dollars but apart from that, I'm just disgusted with what is on offer.

So, I'm hoping these will last for a while.

probably a bit dicky but oh well. Bought in a size 12.

If there are any companies out there reading this post (yea right), I'd be happy to try out your maternity clothes if you've got something stylish to offer.

Sea Change > Completed!

Hey all! My one month absence has been busy with moving and starting a new job so forgive me ... although I doubt anyone missed me! Popping in today to say hey from Buderim on Queensland's Sunshine Coast - my new home.

Nothing too much to share yet for 2013 but I think it's going to be an exciting year.

The Ultimate Christmas Party Frock ... featuring Cinderela B

I was contacted recently by Cinderela B jewellery asking if I'd like to be involved in a Christmas blogger competition. Bloggers have been asked to create a post detailing their ultimate Christmas party outfit featuring their favourite pieces from the Cinderela B range. The winner scores one hundred pounds (beats me where the symbol is on my keyboard!) to spend on the website.

My favourite campaign at the moment would undoubtedly be the Love Honey Bees Campaign ... I mean c'mon - bee jewellery - YES PLEASE! Now they did ask for the ultimate outfit - I've kept most things affordable but thrown in a few items that if money wasn't an issue I'd snap up in a heartbeat.

Pop by the Cinderela B website or Facebook page. They really have some pretty stuff!

What would your ultimate Christmas party outfit consist of?

Giveaway Winners and Pyjamas to Work?!

Sorry it's a bit late but I have just drawn the winners of my photobook giveaway. Thank you to all that entered! The lucky winners are Erica Louise and Zara.

Congrats girls. I'll be emailing you shortly.

I've seen a few celebs rockin the polka dot pant recently and when these babies turned up at Lifeline yesterday in all their 90s glory I knew I had to grab them ... however much they may look like pj or mc hammer pants. I've only had one (male) co-worker ask if I forgot to finish getting dressed this morning so that is a win.

I can only imagine these may just have belonged to one of the members of Girlfriend (who else was a fan?!).
