Hump Day, Bump Day: Week 29 Edition

I've been admiring the shorts suit on many a blogger in the last couple of months but given my current 'state' there isn't much point in investing in one. Enter the extra fifty percent off the marked price sale at sportsgirl on the weekend and the chance I took to try on this pair of elastic waist shorts. They fit perfectly under my bump and I can see them being on regular rotation for the next 10 weeks (or however long they continue to fit.) I realise I may be breaking a few fashion rules wearing black tights under blue shorts but I actually really like this entire outfit. I scored the patent pink belt at another 50% off the marked price sale for $4.95 at sportsgirl a couple of weeks ago.

I had to include a couple of shots of my darling Rock dog today. It is truly unbelievable how sensitive he can be when he feels his 'parents' are in distress or upset. I had a bit of a (well a pretty decent) teary in bed the other night and I was lying on my side while rocky was at the end of the bed. He walked over to me, stood over me and placed his paw on my shoulder. It was so, so adorable. Just like this morning when he placed his paw on my belly just after I'd returned from the gym.

What I Wore: Week 24 Edition

Have you entered my trade secret GIVEAWAY yet? Go here pronto if you want to win a $50 voucher - I have two up for grabs and will post anywhere in Australia!

I've gotten to the stage in my pregnancy where I can literally wear about three things in my wardrobe. And my wardrobe is CHOCKAS. Don't believe me? Check out my instagram feed at peta_ballerina. Yes, FULL huh?
It's quite depressing really.

I did manage to find this gorgeous dress/tunic once I'd culled a substantial amount of dresses out of the mix. A gem from Sportsgirl that I have yet to wear yet but absolutely LOVE. I do wonder though what Sportsgirl's intentions were when they made this dress. It's way too short for a dress in my opinion without tights or leggings but then would it look silly with pants or skinny jeans? Let me know your thoughts.

Speaking of said overcrowded wardrobe, I have decided to do a PROPER cull and actually be serious and brutal about it. I've been inspired a few bloggers out there but not sure I could live on such a small selection. What is the best avenue to sell things? I have quite a few vintage dresses that I've decided to part ways with - I've even considered instagramming them and seeing if anyone loves one or many and just have them pay the postage. I actually have particular bloggers in mind for particular items. What do you think? Sometimes eBay is just too hard.

Lastly, I can can confirm I live on the sunshine coast. What a glorious view I get outside my bedroom window out onto the top deck that overlooks the pool. Maybe they are right - Queensland, beautiful one day, perfect the next.

What I Wore Wednesday

Happy Halloween out there to those of you who are in to the whole thing. I couldn't really give two shits about it and perhaps that is why I wore yellow today.

A department within our division had a Halloween morning tea this morning and so many people put loads of effort into their costumes. Me, perhaps not. I only realised after leaving the morning tea that I must have looked SO out of place in my yellow frock around all the ghosts, scarecrows and just, general black in the room.

Did you notice my new rose gold spike bracelet? I bought it at Sportsgirl in their extra 30% off sale items to team with the michael kors watch i'm almost definitely not going to get for christmas. Given that the husband and I are aiming to get our house on the market, move from Toowoomba to the Sunshine Coast and start jobs on the 14th January I don't think it's really in our budget ... it doesn't hurt to dream though does it?

Have you prepared your christmas list yet? Have you been naughty or nice?

To finish, I thought I'd include a couple of photos which pretty much sum up what most of my photos look like.

Before I sign off I just received an email from Cotton On. There are some great pieces currently available in their C.O. range. Love these ...

Giveaway Winners and Pyjamas to Work?!

Sorry it's a bit late but I have just drawn the winners of my photobook giveaway. Thank you to all that entered! The lucky winners are Erica Louise and Zara.

Congrats girls. I'll be emailing you shortly.

I've seen a few celebs rockin the polka dot pant recently and when these babies turned up at Lifeline yesterday in all their 90s glory I knew I had to grab them ... however much they may look like pj or mc hammer pants. I've only had one (male) co-worker ask if I forgot to finish getting dressed this morning so that is a win.

I can only imagine these may just have belonged to one of the members of Girlfriend (who else was a fan?!).

Tuesday Randomness

Hope everyone has recovered from the long weekend and prepared themselves for another 4 day working week. Not much happened on my weekend except for a lot of tidying, a little bit of shopping and some lovely family time.

Last night, the husband and I started looking at houses for our sea change at the end of the year. It is exciting and daunting all at the same time. We would love to have a decent sized yard AND live close to the beach but unfortunately those characteristics are very hard to find TOGETHER.It seems there are lots of yards where the pool takes up like 80% of the area! Oh, and the husband would like at least a 3 bay shed and I NEED a good wardrobe. And I have to have a house that does not require any work. Completely FINISHED - no renovating required!

We don't have our heart set on any one area on the Sunshine Coast so we did a broad search of the region.

We liked the look of this place but I think it's a bit too far out in the sticks. Nice yard, a pool, beautiful verandah and not too shabby inside. The huge wine cabinet caught my eye!

I like the benchtop and bathroom in this place but the theatre room is a LOT too red and there is basically no yard.

Love the outdoor entertaining area in this one (hubby would love a full outdoor kitchen) but check out the lack of yard, the el-cheapo carpet (I'm not a fan of carpet) and the puny kitchen!

Even though new houses look all pretty, shiny and new, I think our style would better suit an older, renovated house. Think BIG back yard, polished floors and decent sized bedrooms. Is this house stuff boring or are you interested in joining us on our hunt for a new pad?

In other news, I was on my way to have a gander at Trade Secret yesterday afternoon and saw that the Everyday Living store was going to be closing down in 4 days and everything was 80-90% off. It was a bit chaotic in there but I managed to get a coffee table and a vintage look industrial hall table for $104! The hall table was 10% of its original cost and the coffee table was $60 or 20% of its original cost. The hall table is staying in its box until we move - I have too much furniture as it is!

Finally, I was all pumped to ride my bike to work today wearing these two items

and then realised the tyres were just about flat. I might try again tomorrow. It would be nice to win this sportsgirl competition.

Maybe I should just enter this photo. What do we think?

Till later peeps. xxx
