Gday all ... with tomorrow being the significant date of 12/12/12 a friend and I are participating in a photo challenge. It's a photo challenge I dreamed up a few weeks ago and only had a few eager people join in.

What is the challenge you say?

Use the hashtag #12hourday

Oh, Olivia

Olivia, rarely (if ever) do you get it wrong ... but, WHAT is doing with your hair here?!

Does anyone want to join me in documenting their day with a photo every hour on instagram for a 12 hour period? Being at work is going to make it hard to not make my photos look mundane but I'm going to try. Use the hashtag #12hourday. Let me know if you've joined in and I'll keep an eye out for your photos!

Loving the instagram web profiles! Just type instagram.com/[yourusername] into your browser. Easy as!

Welcome Winter

Hey friends! Couldn't wait till tomorrow to share today's outfit so here I am sharing it today. Last week I mentioned that I was on the lookout for a few knits for winter and I hit the jackpot with this beauty in mombasa on Sunday. This is totally the sort of outfit I could wear everyday - one that you could lounge around the house in AND one that is acceptable for (my) work and play! I think I need to get myself another pair of these leggings too!

mombasa jumper (buy here) | asos premium leggings (buy here) | miss shop necklace | target wedges | thrifted free fusion top | diva ring

Go check out yesterday's post ... what do you think of the neon glasses? Seems I've got a bit neon crazy ...

I promise no neons tomorrow!

Oh, and I thought I'd share a pic of my gorgeous twinnie that she instagrammed this morning pretending that Brisbane is actually cold! Go check out her insta-feed at nes083. Ness is having a baby in like 3 weeks. It will be the first baby in the family and to say we are all a little excited is a bit of an understatement.

p.s. winter has definitely arrived today! There was ice on the car this morning.

What I Wore Wednesday

Even though it feels like Tuesday today is in fact Wednesday. Why does it feel like Tuesday? Well friends, because us lucky folk here in Queensland had a public holiday on Monday!

Today I braved an item which has the potential to warrant criticism but toned the item down with a plain black top and vintage jacket on Rachel's advice. It is these jeans from asos bought before my shopping ban started ... only eight days ago! I've actually never bought pants off asos fearing that they wouldn't fit but these fit like a dream. Would love to hear what you think!

love this photo!

as always, thanks to my photographer Leah. This photo is awesome!
oh, i also joined the twitter world the other night. Not really sure what I'm doing but I'm sure I'll either work it out or quit using it. My username is petaBallerina : )

On a completely unrelated note ... how HOT did commando look on the biggest loser finale last night?! Going back to teenage speak the only way I can describe him is YUMMY!

Tuesday Randomness

Hope everyone has recovered from the long weekend and prepared themselves for another 4 day working week. Not much happened on my weekend except for a lot of tidying, a little bit of shopping and some lovely family time.

Last night, the husband and I started looking at houses for our sea change at the end of the year. It is exciting and daunting all at the same time. We would love to have a decent sized yard AND live close to the beach but unfortunately those characteristics are very hard to find TOGETHER.It seems there are lots of yards where the pool takes up like 80% of the area! Oh, and the husband would like at least a 3 bay shed and I NEED a good wardrobe. And I have to have a house that does not require any work. Completely FINISHED - no renovating required!

We don't have our heart set on any one area on the Sunshine Coast so we did a broad search of the region.

We liked the look of this place but I think it's a bit too far out in the sticks. Nice yard, a pool, beautiful verandah and not too shabby inside. The huge wine cabinet caught my eye!

I like the benchtop and bathroom in this place but the theatre room is a LOT too red and there is basically no yard.

Love the outdoor entertaining area in this one (hubby would love a full outdoor kitchen) but check out the lack of yard, the el-cheapo carpet (I'm not a fan of carpet) and the puny kitchen!

Even though new houses look all pretty, shiny and new, I think our style would better suit an older, renovated house. Think BIG back yard, polished floors and decent sized bedrooms. Is this house stuff boring or are you interested in joining us on our hunt for a new pad?

In other news, I was on my way to have a gander at Trade Secret yesterday afternoon and saw that the Everyday Living store was going to be closing down in 4 days and everything was 80-90% off. It was a bit chaotic in there but I managed to get a coffee table and a vintage look industrial hall table for $104! The hall table was 10% of its original cost and the coffee table was $60 or 20% of its original cost. The hall table is staying in its box until we move - I have too much furniture as it is!

Finally, I was all pumped to ride my bike to work today wearing these two items

and then realised the tyres were just about flat. I might try again tomorrow. It would be nice to win this sportsgirl competition.

Maybe I should just enter this photo. What do we think?

Till later peeps. xxx

I hunted and I gathered

Thanks to all of you who left a comment on this post or on Facebook about colour choice for my long awaited Hunter wellies. In the end I decided to go with the safe option and ordered the Hunter Original Adjustable Wellington Boots in gloss black for a bit of pizzazz. I was super excited to get the asos 20% off email just as I was about to place my order over at Country Attire but then was sadly let down when I received the 'this item does not qualify for the applied discount' message. BOO!!

I figure if these fit good and I love them I may treat myself to another pair in red or pink. I am after all, moving to a very raining place (the Sunshine Coast) within the next year and they will be much needed!

Very much looking forward to the 3 little things market that my beautiful friend M and I have booked a stall at tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we sell, sell, sell. I think our store is going to look pretty inviting. Pics on Monday.

Are you on instagram (peta_ballerina) or pinterest (p2thej)? Check me out and I'll follow you back!

My newest pin makes me want my long hair back. How awesome is it?!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xxx

p.s. my wedding has been featured on the gorgeous lady who did my wedding makeup's blog - go check her out.
