Pregnant in Peplum

Today is my first attempt at seeing what the peplum trend is all about. This top from target was reduced to something like $6 so what better way to introduce myself to this oh-so-popular trend. It's soft and super comfortable but I'm unsure if it's suitable for a pregnant belly (if you can make one out at all). I teamed it with some old skorts from ally and my faithful asos brogues

Saturday we went to my sister's mother-in-law's 50th birthday extravanganza. It was heaps of fun to dress up and play around in the photo booth. Can you believe my sissy picked up the Cooper St sequin dress I'm wearing at an op shop for $3?!

Also, I read this morning that fat mum slim in conjunction with blurb is offering a free photo book for anyone worldwide on Saturday for 24 hours only (must pay for postage though) . Like many of us, I have yet to print any of my instagram/facebook photos and when a free photo book is on offer ... why not?!
see the details here.

I might have been sent an email from asos with a 25% off code and might have checked out with these couple of items in my cart.

this one should see my quite well through the pregnancy - here

I've ordered these a size up so I can wear them throughout the next couple of months. I'm too povo to buy leather leggings and I thought these were a good substitute - here

I'm totally loving monochrome at the moment - anyone else? I didn't notice these yesterday but I will definiltey be putting them in my wishlist

What I Wore Wednesday

Not sure about where you are but the weather here in Toowoomba has been somewhat un-summer-like in the last few days. I even wore a jumper to bed last night! So, today I wore an outfit more indicative of spring rather than summer.

I officially have six working days left and I cannot wait to move up to our new place. The removalists come on Monday so our house will be very bare. Can't wait to share it with you all.

Inspired ... Red, White and Animal Print

When I laid eyes on this picture of Kate Moss I knew I had to pin it straight away. Red, white and animal print is a classic in my book and is a look that anyone can recreate usually with pieces directly from their own wardrobe.

That jacket is AMAZING and if I could look that good in red leather pants (and could afford them for that matter) I'd search around the world for the ultimate pair. But I found an alternative in the form of these Lorna Jane jeggings (which aren't all that cheap themselves to be honest). Thinking back to no more than a year ago you would have never seen me even consider buying, let along wearing jeggings but times are a changing. I'm no Kate Moss but quite like this outfit. Can you really go wrong with this colour/pattern combo?

I have some other random photos to share as well. Some that have made it to instragram and some that haven't - all from my iphone : )

all dresses at target were $29 on Saturday. I picked up these two and in doing so, saved myself $70!

an amazing sunset last week.

I've also added some items to my shop my closet page including some vintage gems. Go check it out if you want. Open to offers of course : )

Oh, and have you entered my giveaway yet?! I have two photobooks up for grabs worth just under $100 eacy - great for documenting a wedding, holiday, family or perhaps your outfits?!

Stripes + Spikes

Hi all and welcome to my new followers/readers - lovely to have you on board!

Thought I'd get some quick insta snaps of today's outfit. I particularly love these asos spike earrings and am loving that it is cold enough to bust out my fave tony bianco riding boots - four years later they are still going strong. A good pair of leather boots may seem expensive at the time of purchase but they are definitely an investment! I'm also trying to convince the husband that a chanel bag is an investment too. I've been lusting after one after becoming extremely jealous of Jackie on wag nation's bag.

I've decided I need to get myself a chunky cable knit jumper / sweater. Although I love the look of some of the ones at Dotti I can't justify paying upwards of $49.95 for one. Might pay my ol mate asos a visit to see what they have on offer. Asos never disappoints!

If you like my new blog design and have been thinking of giving your blog a bit of a revamp, pop over to Pursuit of Felicity and shoot her an email. Until the end of June Felicity is offering 25% discount on all of her blog packages ($37.50 for a complete blog design!)

Sale Time

The mid-year sales are well are truly upon us and one sale that always hooks my attention is Portmans. Quite a few of my trusty-worn-a-few-times dresses are from Portmans all of which have been bought at sale time. And what better time to shop than with a 30% off the marked price offer starting today.

A couple of weeks ago I literally died when I saw the leather fit and flare dress on the website. I don't own anything leather but thought it would totally satisfy my occasional rock chick fashion tendencies.

At that time the dress was marked $169.95 - a little too expensive for my thrifty ways. However at 30% off, this baby could be mine for a little under $120 - much more reasonable considering its original price tag of $250. The issue with that though is the dress was only sent to like the top 5 stores in the state all of which are nowhere near my trusty Toowoomba store. The lovely chic at my store said I could ring one of the other stores, find out what sort of fit the dress is, purchase a gift card in store and then send the gift card in a post bag with a return post bag and the dress could be mine. Urgghh, way too much trouble ...
So promptly at four o'clock i'll be heading down-town-toowoomba to see what else the store might have. Peeking online, these are some items which may grab my fancy.
down to $35
um warm! down to $27.95
i am probably going to the races at the sunny coast on sunday. This whole ensemble looks awesome. It might be too warm though. Jacket down to around $70.00
Will report back on what I decide to get!
What am I wearing to skip off to this sale after work?

Wish me good shopping vibes!

What I Wore Wednesday

Even though it feels like Tuesday today is in fact Wednesday. Why does it feel like Tuesday? Well friends, because us lucky folk here in Queensland had a public holiday on Monday!

Today I braved an item which has the potential to warrant criticism but toned the item down with a plain black top and vintage jacket on Rachel's advice. It is these jeans from asos bought before my shopping ban started ... only eight days ago! I've actually never bought pants off asos fearing that they wouldn't fit but these fit like a dream. Would love to hear what you think!

love this photo!

as always, thanks to my photographer Leah. This photo is awesome!
oh, i also joined the twitter world the other night. Not really sure what I'm doing but I'm sure I'll either work it out or quit using it. My username is petaBallerina : )

On a completely unrelated note ... how HOT did commando look on the biggest loser finale last night?! Going back to teenage speak the only way I can describe him is YUMMY!
