Trade Secret Fun + a GIVEAWAY

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of the newest Trade Secret store on the Sunshine Coast (in Maroochydore) and was kindly gifted a voucher by the lovely TS marketing manager Tessa to spend on whatever my heart desired. Tessa even provided my twin sister a voucher when she found out she was coming along with me. LUCKY OR WHAT?!

The store is jam packed with mens, ladies and kids clothes and accessories AND homewares at at least half the RRP price of regular stores (and that's without any further discounts applied which happens all the time!) They have some great brands on offer including Wish, Lee, Calvin Klein, Henleys, Mossimo and the ever reliable Bonds.

Sissy and I went off separately to check out what was on offer and when we came together to show each other what we were considering getting, what do you think twins did? Yep, picked the same Sunnygirl pants.

Here are some of the other things that caught my eye.
I got the red ballet flats with the bow and the onesie with the dozer on it
I desperately wanted those shorts but there were none in my size (and they wouldn't fit at the moment anwyay!)
um, YES they have Michael Kors bags! I think the top one was just under $200.

Between my sissy, husband and I we scored a new jacket (wearing today), a pair of Lee jeans, a Henleys shirt, a couple of onesies for the little man, some shoes and a toy for my niece who is just the most scrumptious little thing ever. Wouldn't you agree?

Modcloth

I have often had my eye on a Modcloth beauty or two but have never actually purchased from them before. The 50% off email for new arrivals sparked my interest this morning and before I knew it I was entering my PayPal details for two new dresses.

The shipping was really reasonable too ... around $11.

P.S. Does anyone else have the urge to shop for themselves more at christmas time? I don't know about you but the pre-christmas sales are just about as-good-as ... if not better than the ones after christmas.

And does Christmas really need a capital?

What do you want for Christmas?

Do you have trouble coming up with gift ideas for yourself? I find I buy things throughout the year that I want so really struggle when asked 'what do you want for Christmas?'

So here is what is on my current wishlist ... given that a move to the sunshine coast is imminent, a one year wedding anniversary is a week away and Christmas is 8 weeks away!!!

Rose gold Michael Kors watch ... (buy here on sale)

Can't go past a bit of Nigella ... (buy here)
this outfit (and that hair too) ... (buy here)

Karen Walker super duper strength sunglasses (plenty on eBay)
  • an instagram poster (buy here)
  • this print
  • a voucher for a large canvas ... need to get some wedding photos done!
  • some nice bed linen ... queen size
  • sandals for summer
  • this drinks dispenser ... so pretty (even if we only filled it with cordial)
  • skirts, dresses, singlets and tunics for my new coastal lifestyle

That should give some gift buyers some hints. What are you asking Santa for this Christmas?

What I Wore Wednesday ... On campus

Winter has well and truly arrived in South East Queensland. When the alarm went off at five thirty this morning for me to get out of bed and go to my regular Wednesday morning body attack class I thought to myself ... 'i must be crazy' ... and for a split second considered staying in the warmth of my bed. I didn't though and ended up with sweat dripping down my face by the end of the class. No regrets!

I had about five seconds to decide what to wear today and came up with this navy combo. Navy is such a classic colour and I've been drawn to all things navy lately.

so attractive! asos maternity cape (no mum I'm not pregnant), dotti dress, corelli flats

This dress from Dotti was marked down to $19.95 from an original price of something ridiculous like $69.95. I'm sorry for those of you who do pay full price for things but I just can't bring myself to spend exorbidant amounts of money on items that aren' the best quality. I've even noticed Portmans choice of materials seemed to have downgraded. The only thing I bought yesterday was the embellished peter pan dress and no way was it worth of its $129.95 original price.

Enough complaining ... I'm looking at getting a leather jacket. Every time winter rolls around I say I want a leather jacket and never actually follow through. Just Jeans have a couple which have caught my eye and are currently on sale for $129.

Do you have a leather jacket? Do you love it?

I did an advanced instructor training course (for Body Pump) on Saturday and got pulled up on my posture many times. Being an ex-gymnast (many, many moons ago) you would think that it would be good. Must remedy this!!

Do Your Research

This morning I received an email from PeepToe shoes and decided to check out their featured blogger - Kathy from Shopping Confessions. A few posts in, I was intrigued to visit Grays Outlet from her review - a sister site to Grays Online. I haven't ever bought anything from Grays Online but know others who have. Grays Outlet seem to have pretty good prices on lots of stuff but naturally I've been perusing the women's fashion.

I noticed a brand I had seen sold on Frockaholics was sold on this site and decided to do a bit of research.

This dress (photo from frockaholics)

  • is on final sale at frockaholics for $120.00 with free shipping
  • is $29.95 plus $9.95 shipping on grays outlet
  • is not available on the darling website but shipping is around $20.00 so it would not be cheaper. They are having a 70% off sale though if anyone is interested.
They have quite a few styles and it pays to cross-reference the item on the darling or frockaholics website as grays pictures aren't the best quality. Who cares though when they offer such great discounts!

Here are some items I'm considering putting in my cart. I do have a swanky hen's weekend coming up in a couple of weeks!

In other shopping related news I just purchased this ...

Exciting, no?! Well I recently completed my Les Mills Body Pump training and have started team teaching. This Wednesday I think I will be taking the whole class and am really starting to enjoy it. Do you go to any of the Les Mills classes?

Hope you had a great weekend!
